Lindsey & Jonathon... Married at Highgate House {Northampton Wedding Photography}

I shared Lindesy & Jonathon's wedding day with them back in May ay Highgate House in Creaton.

We first met there at one of the Wedding Showcases Highgate House hold and they booked me on the spot.

Whilst the wedding ceremony was a civil service the day was also influenced by Indian wedding traditions with the celebrations starting long before the wedding day. Jonathon's family had come over from India and it was wonderful to share a wedding with customs I hadn't experienced before and I'd never been to a wedding where a 'rickshaw' made a surprise apperance!

It was an honour to share Lindsey & Jonathon's wedding day with them, they're a lovely couple and I wish them many years of happy marriage together.

Coton Manor Gardens...

…’this is not your average garden’… according to Tania Pasco, author of the new book Wild Garden Weekends…. 12 of the best secret gardens in the UK

Coton Manor Gardens is the more than ‘average’ garden. I’ve not been before - I went today - I’m not a gardener - I took a camera - the wife took me - we took my mum - we all agreed - we will probably go again!

Thank you Coton Manor Gardens!

Michelle & Neil... Married at Highgate House {Northampton Wedding Photography}

Back in March I shared Michelle & Neil's wedding day with them at Highgate House in Creaton.

Having spent a fun morning with Michelle & Neil, their daughter Isabella and Michelle's mum Julie back in February for their pre-wedding shoot I was really looking forward to spending their wedding day with them.

I met Michelle, Julie and the bridesmaids nice and early at Highgate House and started documenting the wedding day with the bridal preparations and managed 5 minutes with Neil as he got ready. The wedding ceremony was conducted in the stunning Baronial Hall which provides a wonderful atmosphere for the ceremony to take place in.

Considering that Michelle & Neil didn't really start planning their wedding until October of last year everything was perfect (I think Michelle's mum can take a lot of credit for that!) and everybody had a wonderful day.

Michelle & Neil were blessed with a beautiful sunny day, but the temperature was kept low by a bitterly cold wintry wind.

Thank you Michelle & Neil for choosing me to photograph your wedding it was a real pleasure to share your wedding day with you.

Solar Eclipse 2015...

You'd have had to be on a different planet yesterday (probably literally!) to have missed the fact that we'd witnessed a partial solar eclipse in the morning.

Everybody and there dog photographed it in some way, either through high powered telescopes or with iPhones.

Purist solar eclipse watchers were probably a bit miffed with the cloud cover and I know in some places the cloud cover meant it wasn't visible at all. In Northampton we had some cloud cover but I think it added some drama to the spectacle.

The images were shot using a DSLR with a 10 stop ND filter on the front of the lens and have had very little post-production work in Lightroom.

Here are my four favourite images from the selection I took.... see if you can spot the plane! (I didn't at the time!!)...

Lindsey & Jonathon... pre-wedding shoot

I first met Lindsey & Jonathon nearly a year ago when they booked me to photograph their wedding day. Needless to say the three of us couldn't believe where that year had gone!

A lot has happened during that year, obviously - but for Lindsey & Jonathon a life changing event is due... but I'll touch on that when I blog their wedding images!

The fact that we first met almost a year ago is one of the reasons why I like to meet up before the wedding for a pre-wedding shoot. Not only do we get some lovely informal portaits, which can be used in one way or another on the wedding day, we also get to chat about the plans for the day in more detail and continue to build our relationship. The last thing either of us want is for me to arrive on the morning of the wedding and the bride & groom don't recognise me!

Lindsey & Jonathon get married at the end of May at Highgate House. Knowing both of them a little better and understanding the Indian wedding customs that will form part of the wedding I know it's going to be an absolute smasher - I can't wait!

A few from our time together in the Northamptonshire countryside - including the very special young lady that is 'Wilma'...
