Lindsey & Jonathon... Married at Highgate House {Northampton Wedding Photography}

I shared Lindesy & Jonathon's wedding day with them back in May ay Highgate House in Creaton.

We first met there at one of the Wedding Showcases Highgate House hold and they booked me on the spot.

Whilst the wedding ceremony was a civil service the day was also influenced by Indian wedding traditions with the celebrations starting long before the wedding day. Jonathon's family had come over from India and it was wonderful to share a wedding with customs I hadn't experienced before and I'd never been to a wedding where a 'rickshaw' made a surprise apperance!

It was an honour to share Lindsey & Jonathon's wedding day with them, they're a lovely couple and I wish them many years of happy marriage together.

Michelle & Neil... Married at Highgate House {Northampton Wedding Photography}

Back in March I shared Michelle & Neil's wedding day with them at Highgate House in Creaton.

Having spent a fun morning with Michelle & Neil, their daughter Isabella and Michelle's mum Julie back in February for their pre-wedding shoot I was really looking forward to spending their wedding day with them.

I met Michelle, Julie and the bridesmaids nice and early at Highgate House and started documenting the wedding day with the bridal preparations and managed 5 minutes with Neil as he got ready. The wedding ceremony was conducted in the stunning Baronial Hall which provides a wonderful atmosphere for the ceremony to take place in.

Considering that Michelle & Neil didn't really start planning their wedding until October of last year everything was perfect (I think Michelle's mum can take a lot of credit for that!) and everybody had a wonderful day.

Michelle & Neil were blessed with a beautiful sunny day, but the temperature was kept low by a bitterly cold wintry wind.

Thank you Michelle & Neil for choosing me to photograph your wedding it was a real pleasure to share your wedding day with you.

Lindsey & Jonathon... pre-wedding shoot

I first met Lindsey & Jonathon nearly a year ago when they booked me to photograph their wedding day. Needless to say the three of us couldn't believe where that year had gone!

A lot has happened during that year, obviously - but for Lindsey & Jonathon a life changing event is due... but I'll touch on that when I blog their wedding images!

The fact that we first met almost a year ago is one of the reasons why I like to meet up before the wedding for a pre-wedding shoot. Not only do we get some lovely informal portaits, which can be used in one way or another on the wedding day, we also get to chat about the plans for the day in more detail and continue to build our relationship. The last thing either of us want is for me to arrive on the morning of the wedding and the bride & groom don't recognise me!

Lindsey & Jonathon get married at the end of May at Highgate House. Knowing both of them a little better and understanding the Indian wedding customs that will form part of the wedding I know it's going to be an absolute smasher - I can't wait!

A few from our time together in the Northamptonshire countryside - including the very special young lady that is 'Wilma'...

Sophie & Shaun...Married {Highgate House, Creaton}

Back in October of this year I had the pleasure of sharing Sophie & Shaun's wedding day at Highgate House in Creaton. We first met at one of the Wedding Showcases that Highgate House hold and they booked me to document their wedding day shortly after.

The bridal preparations were split between the girls having their hair done in Lutterworth and their make-up applied in the bridal suite at Highgate House. On the day the weather was a little unpredictable and could have gone either way, but given the time of year we were blessed with some lovely Autumnal sunshine.

Sophie is a big Audrey Hepburn fan, so there was a 'Hepburn' theme running throughout the wedding and this is the first wedding I have photographed where a Formula 1 car has made an appearance!

Wedding planning for the majority of couples can be quite a stressful time, however Sophie & Shaun's wedding planning was made even more stressful when Sophie was taken ill in the lead up to the wedding and had to undergo major surgery. Despite this, she looked absolutely fabulous on the day and made Shaun a very happy man.

As usual a very small selection of my favourites from the below.

Julya & Nick...Married {Highgate House, Northampton Wedding Photography}

Julya & Nick were married back in October at St Peter's Church in Cogenhoe, Northamptonshire with their reception taking place at Highgate House in Creaton.

I first met Julya & Nick at a wedding fair held at Highgate House at the beginning of the year. I met a few couples that day but for some reason when Julya phoned to talk about their plans sometime after the fair I knew exactly who they were - I think I'd hoped that if nobody else booked me from that day that Julya & Nick would.

We got together some time before the wedding for their pre-wedding shoot and instantly got on, sharing the same sense of humour and I knew then that spending their wedding day with them would be a great privilege.

I arrived at Julya & Nick's house to photograph the bridal preparations and Julya was very nervous about the day ahead, so as well as being the photogapher I became the 'third bridesmaid' and used all of my wedding experience to keep Julya calm.

It's always lovely to receive emails from couples once they've had a chance to see their photographs and Julya's was particularly special....

'…I am now sending our HUGE THANK YOU to you this way!

We are so grateful to you agreeing to do our wedding photography and for the Pre Wedding shoot.

We can only say.... AMAZING and STUNNING!

The photographs are exactly what we wanted - a story of our very special and long awaited day, in both black and white and colour.

Our wedding, as you know was not just about Nicholas and I saying our vows to each other, but ensuring our two wonderful sons were involved in the day which was OUR WEDDING.  You heard our request to ensure that the Wedding pictures showed the four of us and have captured the emotion that we knew would be there, brilliantly.

We had the most amazing day with everything going to plan.... And the horrendous nerves on my part, which the photographs really show the different stages I went through until I was calm at the top of the aisle. Great photography showing the panic stages....!

Great practical skills too, born from experience...  A bit too early for your veil......  You really need to sit down.....  You should really drink some water....  What have you eaten - to the sliced banana you made sure I ate!  You really were the third bridesmaid!!!!   I'm not sure I would have got through the nerves at this stage without your calm presence - Thank You!

Thank you so much again for such brilliant photographs and joining in our celebration with our family and friends - you made it so much easier to have the photographs taken!  We will definitely recommend you to anyone wanting special photography!'

Unfortunately Father Richard at St Peter's doesn't allow photography during the ceremony, which is a real shame, as it's such an important part of the wedding day to document.

It was a very emotional day and an absolute pleasure and a privilege to share Julya & Nick's wedding day with them.
